I have never been so scared

Sunday morning Lindsay's alarm went off at 5:45AM. Of course it woke Bob up. He grumbled, tossed around for a bit and decided to get up and get in the hot tub. As he was opening the blinds on the back door a man was opening the screen door. Startled, Bob yelled very loudly and shouted at the guy "what are you doing here?" Then he yelled at me to call the cops! I jumped out of bed with no glasses on trying to get myself together and dial 911. I hit something on the phone and it starts dialing someone elses number(I don't know who). I quickly turned the phone off and hit 911. At this point I was a mess. The 911 operator couldn't understand a thing I was saying. So I told her very slowly 2421 Missouri St. She says yes, I have your address. What is your phone number. I had to stop and think a second before I could tell her. She was trying to calm me down so she could understand what was going on. She asked if there was a medical emergency and I told her no, someone was trying to get into our home. She asked if I could give her a discription? No I had not seen the guy only my husband. By this time I was shaking so bad I could hardly hold the phone. I yelled at Bob to see if he could tell her what the guy looked like. The operator finally said, Can I speak with your husband. Bob took the phone and told her he really didn't get a good look at him as it was dark and it all happened so fast. He walked back to the door and the guy was still there! Bob said well I guess I can tell you because he is still sitting on the deck in one of the patio chairs. This guy was so drunk he thought he was at his own home. 3 police cars responded not knowing what was actually happening. They walked around to the backyard and escorted him to the street. They didn't arrest him, in fact they let him walk home as 2 of the cars followed him. The police didnt really talk to us. One officer came into the house because the guy knocked over our grill. He wanted Bob to go out to make sure it wasn't damaged. I have never been so scared in my entire life as I was that morning.

I don't know if you've heard our story like that, but we came home one night (my parents didn't lock the doors to our house) and there was someone in my parents bedroom between there bed and the wall...it ended up being a drunk woman who thought she was at her house! crazy drunk people! at least we weren't being robbed or anything!

Ack! Isn't it crazy what you can't remember or function correctly when you are scared? I'm glad you are all ok! That would scare the bageezus out of me too.

SERIOUSLY!!! I would have liked to see Bob...not you, because it sounds like you were a disaster and exactly what I would look like in that situation and who needs a reminder?

wow.

I am glad you are all okay. It must be an awful feeling to have someone unexpected in your back yard like that.

Megans. Response made me laugh. :)
